Starting pay covers the first 28 days which typically covers two trips. Training pay is based on hours worked and miles driven, but usually average….

Non CDL trainees w/experience. $100/day w/o experience $80/day
All employees must have a CDL permit and be able to obtain a license within 90 days

CDL drivers w/2yrs experience. $130/day w/o 2yrs experience $100/day

Steps/turns are additional and add $10 to $50 per day to the check.

You then participate in a review with the crew leader, your dispatcher and management. Advancement in pay and responsibility is totally performance driven. Reviews are given after each trip with quarterly job evaluations.

Currently, top pay for a CDL Class A Driver is $18/hr and 38 cents/mile. At 38 hours and 2800 mile average, that translates to $684 plus $1064 plus $150 average steps/turns which equal $1898 in gross pay per week.  Work 38 weeks and gross $72,124. This is in addition to the full benefits listed below.

Standard benefits after 90 days include fully paid health insurance for the employee (family coverage available), six paid holidays and a 401K style retirement fund with matching three percent. After one year, 40 hours vacation pay… after three years, 80 hours is available.  At your third year, these benefits are worth up to $6758.
